Cookie policy

Learn which cookies and local-storage technologies Scedue uses for authentication, preferences, security, and optional analytics, and how to control them.

Effective August 2, 2026Last updated August 2, 2026

Scedue uses essential browser storage for authentication, security, theme, and consent choices. Optional PostHog analytics starts only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Scedue does not currently use advertising cookies or sell personal data for targeted advertising.

Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Local storage and similar technologies store preferences or identifiers on a device. Pixels and scripts can measure how a page or feature is used. This policy explains those technologies on scedue.com and app.scedue.com and should be read with the Privacy Policy.

Strictly necessary authentication and security

The application uses authentication cookies or equivalent storage to keep a signed-in session, refresh it securely, route users to protected screens, and prevent unauthorised access. These technologies are necessary to provide an account and cannot be disabled through the analytics choice.

Preferences

The key scedue_theme_v2 is stored locally to remember the light or dark theme. Social-connection completion state may be stored briefly in local storage so the app can safely complete an authorised connection flow.

Consent record

The cookie scedue_analytics_consent records “granted” or “denied” for up to 180 days across scedue.com subdomains. It is required to remember the choice and prevent the optional analytics prompt from repeatedly appearing.

Optional PostHog analytics

If you allow analytics, PostHog may set first-party or cross-subdomain identifiers and collect page visits, feature actions, performance, device and browser details, approximate location derived from IP, and public-site session replay. Public-site form inputs are masked. Private app screens do not use session replay, their text and attributes are masked, and URL query strings and fragments are removed before analytics events are sent.

Cookie-free public traffic measurement

Where configured, Ahrefs Web Analytics measures aggregate public-site traffic without setting analytics cookies. It may receive ordinary web-request details such as IP-derived information, browser type, page, and referrer under Ahrefs’ own privacy terms. It does not use the Scedue optional-analytics preference because it is configured as cookie-free measurement.

  • authenticate accounts and keep sessions secure;
  • remember theme and privacy choices;
  • complete an authorised social-connection handoff;
  • understand public-site navigation and product usage after consent;
  • diagnose performance and usability problems; and
  • protect the Services from fraud, abuse, and technical failure.
  • Use the Analytics choices button at the lower-left of the website or app to allow or deny optional PostHog analytics.
  • A later denial stops new optional capture. Previously collected information may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Browser settings can block or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent sign-in, security, theme, and connection features from working correctly.
  • Supported browser “Do Not Track” signals are respected by the optional analytics configuration.

The Scedue analytics-consent cookie lasts up to 180 days unless deleted sooner. Theme preference remains until changed or browser storage is cleared. Session and security-cookie duration is managed according to authentication and risk needs. Optional analytics retention is controlled in the analytics provider’s project settings and should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for measurement and security.

Authentication, analytics, embedded resources, and connected services may place or receive their own technical data when their feature is used. Their practices are governed by their policies. We may update this page when a technology, purpose, or retention period changes and will request a new choice where required.
